OVERVIEW
My Mitsubishi Connect offers remote operations and control for the Mitsubishi Outlander and Eclipse Cross. Mitsubishi sought to build on the mobile app and owner portal experience by bringing vehicle connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
CHALLENGE & GOALS
Leverage the existing design from My Mitsubishi Connect and adhere to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto guidelines to create a safe and effective experience for vehicles stopped and in motion.
REQUIREMENTS & METRICS
Working with Mitsubishi Europe and Aeris development teams, began prioritization of essential features for display in vehicle information consoles. Wireframes were created to optimize remote operations, vehicle selection, understand vehicle health and purchase of subscription packages.
Once user flows and wireframes were approved, visual design commenced for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, submitted for approval and field tested with customers.
Later versions added integration for the MyQ Chamberlain remote garage door opener.
RESULTS
The My Mitsubishi Connect App has been installed on thousands of vehicles and monitored for feedback from support to guide future improvements and additional vehicle support.
As an extension of the app, it has garnered hundreds of favorable reviews in the Google Play Store, and thousands of positive reviews in the Apple App Store.
